Abstract

Cassation is a special form of judicial supervision exercised by thecourts, tasked with identifying and quashing final, legally effective judgments ordecisions where there are grounds to believe that a serious error of law has occurred.This article analyses the authority of the Cassation Panel to annul such judgments anddecisions under Viet Nam’s criminal procedure law and offers recommendations toimprove the governing legal framework.Keywords: Cassation; review of judgments and decisions; annulment of final,legally effective judgments and decisions.
