Abstract

In recent years, deprivation of nationality has been resorted to by manystates. This measure has significantly negative effects on individuals and in the worstscenarios, can result in statelessness. Given the significance of nationality, acomparative analysis of international law on deprivation of nationality and Vietnameselegislation on the same matter is crucial and warranted. This paper examines thedefinition, legal nature, and conditions for deprivation of nationality under internationallaw, along with recommendations for Viet Nam’s legal framework on this matter.
